From around 800 A.D until circa 1050 A.D the Vikings controlled about half of England and parts of Scotland and Ireland. After 878 A.D the eastern half of England following the line made by Watling Street was called Danelaw and under Viking control. The word Vikng comes from the word 'vikingr' meaning pirate or raider in the old language of the Norwegians. Dispite there namesake the Vikings were in fact accomished craftspeople and artists and were the first Europeans to reach the Americas.

The products in the artefact range are not intended as toys and are unsuitable for small children due to the nature of the products or their size. These ‘artefacts’ are intended to help provide a visual and tactile reference to help put forward a point in a fun and meaningful way. The majority of the ‘artefacts’ are high quality replicas. As some ‘artefacts’ are handmade there may be some small variation in colour to that of our photo, this is apart of the charm with a handmade product.
